Paid vs. Organic Strategies ——— July 6, 2020
To start I would like to explain what are paid versus organic advertisement strategies. A paid strategy in advertising is when you set up an ad through Google or Facebook ads, for example. You can pay per click or pay a set amount over a period of time to run the ad and have those platforms promote the content you give them to promote and bring customers to your website. An organic strategy on the other hand is when you optimize your website and use keywords and specific content and layouts to bring customers to your site for free from a search engine like Google. Pros and Cons to Paid advertising.

Pros to paid strategies as listed above are, the ability to quickly scale up or down the traffic from the paid advertisements and the ability to target your ad to specific markets. Specifying your market gives a business the ability to only cater to a specific location or demographic that might be more likely to have a conversion or a sale.
Cons to a paid strategy are first of all that you have to pay for them. Advertisements can be very expensive and a huge part of a business’s marketing expenses. Another Con is the traffic will ultimately stop as soon as you close the ad or campaign, stopping the extra traffic to your site. The final con mentioned is that the CTR for paid strategies is never as good as an organic search result from a search engine. The organic results have statistically always been preferred.
Pros to an organic strategy are, the traffic can continue to grow over time even if you slow down on the effort to optimize the website. Another Pro is that it is free so any business can afford to utilize this method. The final mentioned pro is that statistically organic strategies have the best click through rate.
Cons to an organic strategy are that it takes a lot of time to really optimize results and you cannot target specific markets or demographics.
